Check My Assessment

The Key Largo Wastewater Treatment District imposed a System Development Charge (also known as SDC or assessment) on all parcels in its service area, for access to the central wastewater system.

The wastewater assessment is a one-time fee that’s imposed on a parcel. There are two payment options:

  1. Pay in multiple year installments on the annual Monroe County Tax Collector’s Notice of Real Estate Taxes and Assessments.
  1. Pay the assessment in full. This can be done at any time.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PAYMENT IN FULL:
  • The assessment balance is recalculated annually on September 1st.  If the assessment is paid in full before September 1stno future installments will be placed on the Monroe County Tax Collector’s Notice of Real Estate Taxes and Assessments.
  • If an assessment will be paid in full between August 15 and September 15 of each year, please contact Customer Service at 305 451-4019 to confirm the adjusted assessment payoff amount.

Payment in Full Methods:

  1. Pay online by credit card or directly from a bank account: CLICK HERE Fees will apply ($2.00 flat rate for electronic check; or 2.5% for credit card)
  2. Pay by check. Submit a check payable to KLWTD to 103355 Overseas Highway, Key Largo, FL 33037. Please include the 14 digit Parcel Number (which is the Real Estate # or RE) on the check

How to check your assessment

  • Click “Check Your Assessment” below
  • Use drop down to search for parcel by address, owner name or parcel number/RE
  • Click parcel to select it
  • Scroll down to “Special Assessment Information “
  • Click on the arrow that’s in the left most box of the Special Assessment Information table
  • Click on the Installments arrow for more information

“2023 Calendar year installments for non-ad Valorem wastewater assessments have been calculated and sent to Monroe County Tax Collectors Office. Installments will appear on your 2023 tax bill. The assessment balance pay-off amount located on this page does NOT include the installment on the Monroe County property tax bill.”
